Thickly-built linebacker with experience in space and on the edge, but best-suited for the middle/inside at the Power 5 level. Adequate height and impressive bulk for a high school linebacker. Owns virtually college-ready size. Physical defender who plays with a mean streak. Flashes impressive hitting power with ability to generate strength with limited coiling. Bulk and strength manifest in ability to fight through blocks in the run game. Heavy-handed player. Strength and punch power also evident as a pass-rusher. Provides impressive production as a rusher. Multi-angle blitzer with good sense of timing. Also experienced playing with a hand on the ground in certain passing downs. Must improve overall athleticism. Closes well but predominantly asked to play downhill. Must adjust to playing laterally and dropping in coverage. Combine-verified testing raises concerns (scratched 40, 4.70 shuttle, 27.8-inch vertical). Despite playing experience, may be limited to gap-plugging role in college. Physical tone-setter who could become in-the-box backbone for the right program. Potential to become reliable starter at the P5 level.
