Reminds Us Of

Bryce Hall New York Jets

A potential CB1 for a College Football Playoff contender. Has the size and speed to play one football’s most challenging positions at an extremely high level. Owns a college-ready frame with his sprinter-like quads. Blessed with some additional length in the arms. Thrives in bump-and-run situations, but is also capable of mirroring in off coverage with his quick feet and loose hips. Likes to put his hands on wide receivers and get them off schedule, whether that be at the line of scrimmage or a few yards down the field. Seems to do a nice job of feeling out routes and positioning himself to make plays. Aggressive at the catch point and will fight through hands to break up a pass. Explosive muscle fibers allow him to elevate and make a difference in the air. Not exactly one to disappear in run support as he understands how to shed blocks and make stops in the alley. Started prep career off in Virginia where he totaled 11 interceptions as a sophomore before transferring into IMG Academy for his junior and senior season. Wasn’t tested much by opposing quarterbacks while at the national powerhouse, but held his own and looked like one of the top cornerbacks in the class of 2022 at the Under Armour All-America Game. Must keep progressing and advancing as a player, but frame (pushing 6-foot-1, 195 pounds) and verified times (4.4 in the 40-yard dash, 4.2 short shuttle) suggest that he can be an impact player on Saturdays and then eventually on Sundays. Likely to settle in as an outside corner, but versatile enough to get it done on the inside and potentially even at safety, if needed. Will provide immediate special teams value at the school of his choice and has a good chance to avoid a redshirt given mature mindset.

H.S. Athletic Background

Grew up running track.

2021: MaxPreps All-American. Helped Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy post a 9-1 record while playing a national schedule. Coached by Pepper Johnson. Didn’t see too many balls come his way. Worked in a secondary that also featured Florida safety signee Kamari Wilson and Michigan safety signee Keon Sabb.

2020: Transferred into IMG where he secured one of the starting cornerback spots. Helped the Ascenders go 8-0 and finished ranked No. 1 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25.

2019: Played sophomore season at Norfolk (Va.) Norview where he had 11 interceptions.
