Reminds Us Of

Sam Hubbard Cincinnati Bengals

Good height with requisite frame to fit multiple roles in varied defensive schemes. Has played multiple positions in high school on both sides of the ball -- carried the ball, caught the ball, and played multiple spots on defense Could be legitimate Power Five recruit at tight end. Motor runs high and manifests in physical style of play regardless of alignment. Strong in the phone booth and effective against the run because of it. Good tester dating to spring of sophomore year (4.85 40, 4.34 shuttle). Early view of two-way prospect has shifted to defense with progression of high school career. Ultimate home likely depends on scheme, but possesses traits that could fit traditional weak-side end, strong-side end, or possibly 3-4 standing edge player, subject to physical development. Flashes some initial punch that aids in disengaging ability and translates to bull rush. Shows encouraging closing ability, especially relative to size, and arrives with conviction. Raw as a pass-rusher and will need to expand move set. Honing technique at a full-time position will be key to long-term development. Built impressively but owns a minus wingspan which could negatively influence physical ceiling and pass-rushing potential. Cream of the crop in state of Oklahoma's 2021 class with potential to reach the top half of the NFL Draft.
