A lanky second-level defender with a strong testing profile that can cover plenty of ground and is surprisingly physical. Measured just over 6-foot-4, 195 pounds spring before senior season. Obviously, will need to add plenty of mass to his slender build if he wants to be a true difference-maker in the box, but is a willing tackler that isn’t afraid to sift through traffic on Friday nights and make a stop in the A or B Gap. Ability to quickly move laterally and redirect makes him effective in passing situations. So does his prior experience playing safety at the prep level. Will likely need a year or two to get his body right, but should be viewed as a high-upside, developmental off-ball linebacker prospect that can play all three downs, which is a valuable asset in an era where so many offenses are simply trying to air it out. Might be able to offer some value as a situational rusher early on in college career depending on scheme and program needs. Length, short-area burst and range likely to eventually draw him looks from NFL talent evaluators if he keeps progressing.
