Gavin Blackwell

Slender frame and build. Has posted strong track times in the 55-meter dash and was a state finalist in the winter prior to his senior season. Highly productive as a sophomore playing with future North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell. Saw his production dip a bit as a junior upon Howell's graduation, but still posted good numbers. Is a fluid, flexible mover off the line. Uses his spatial awareness to find holes in the defense, both from the slot and outside. Shows the ability to adjust and make difficult catches on off-target throws. Shows a savvy skill set in 7-on-7 settings with route-running and ball skills. Will need to continue improving his play strength and overall size to help in defeating press coverage and adding to his ability after the catch. Tests as an athletic player and has the track times to back that up, but needs to continue transferring that athleticism to the gridiron. Projects as a Power Five starter with the upside to develop into a NFL Draft pick.
