Projection

Power 4 Starter

Lane is headed to play at Washington as an edge rusher but the game we went to, he flashed as a tight end. It makes sense that he's got some offensive chops- he was a quarterback growing up before moving positions as high school got going and now he's headed to the Pac-12 as a pass rusher. But Lane could probably be a Power 5 tight end, thanks largely to his pass catching abilities and athleticism. Lane shined at a number of events this offseason, with great athletic marks and quickness in drills and 1on1s, but seeing him in pads for the first time this season, its translating to the field and he's made a big jump himself as a player. He had an interception defensively and a touchdown catch to go along with it, showing that positional versatility. As an edge, he flashed a quick first step, ability to dip under his blocker and get in to the backfield. He's still a bit raw in terms of holding a bag of moves- right now, he uses mostly that quickness and speed- which you can do in high school but as he continues to develop more moves, should really flourish in college.
