Reminds Us Of

Courtland Sutton Denver Broncos

A big wide receiver with long limbs. Well-developed physique for his age. Gifted athlete that was the top target at the powerhouse that is IMG Academy his senior season. Fires out of his stance with stretch-the-field strides. Flexible in the upper body. Shows the hand strength and concentration to snatch the ball out of the air without slowing at the catch point. Deceptive route runner that creates separation with his head fakes. Has the foot quickness to plant and win on simple slants. Uses his size to box-out defenders. Rather elusive in the open field. Capable of moving the chains on a short screen pass as he has enough juice and power to shed tackles, especially when he’s got a full head of steam. Featured as a punt returner throughout his prep career. Drew rave reviews from the strength staff at IMG Academy, who viewed the Miami native as a hard worker. Posted a disappointing time in the 40-yard dash the spring before junior season, but owns some impressive times on the track. Also has shown that he can pull away from defenses in pads. Already has what he needs in his tool box to emerge as a WR1-type for a Power 5 program. Will, however, need to keep perfecting his craft as he’s far from a polished product. Likely to hear his name called early on in the NFL Draft.
