Power-5 Starter

Willie Gay Jr. Kansas City Chiefs

Adequate height but not long with a minus wingspan relative to height. May be frame-limited, but possesses a good build with some bulk and enough space to add a bit more mass in college. Dynamic athlete, regardless of position, but especially for an OLB projection. Terrific verified testing with a 4.61 40 an 4.14 shuttle made him one of the nation's top testers in the spring of 2019. Has primarily played end, often in a four-point stance, but shows encouraging pursuit ability. Testing speed manifests in closing ability. Impact tackler who brings power on arrival. Dangerous in backside pursuit. Will face learning curve, whether playing a standing rush LB or traditional off-line LB role. Not accustomed to dropping in coverage and will need technical work in that area. One of the most purely athletic LB's in the nation's 2020 class. Tons of potential. Could become multi-year Power 5 starter with long-term NFL Draft ceiling.
