Reminds Us Of

Allen Lazard Iowa State Cyclones

A tall, skinny wide receiver that’s pushing 6-foot-5. Has improved his game vastly over the past few years and likely still has his best football ahead of him as he’s far from a complete product. The type of offensive weapon that’s always going to get a good hard look from a quarterback because of his length and ability to create mismatches. Relatively coordinated for someone with longer limbs. Tracks the ball better than most and will adjust in the air to make a play at the catch point. At his best when asked to attack the deeper parts of the field, but has a knack for finding holes in zone coverage and is more than capable of creating separation on slant and drag routes. Will need to add some body armor to his wiry frame once he gets to college as that will make it easier to shed tackles and fight for yards after the catch. Additional mass will also make him a much more effective blocker out on the perimeter. Shouldn't be viewed as a burner, but has a burst to him and averaged just over 24 yards a catch as a junior playing in one of the Sunshine State’s higher classifications. Followed that up with 10 touchdowns through the first seven games of his senior season. Will likely need some time to find his bearings at the next level, but has a chance to blossom into a multi-year starter and a potential WR1 type at a Top 25 program given his size and skillset. NFL upside if everything comes together as large catch radius makes him a valuable asset in the red zone.
