Plays with a very good understanding of leverage at the edge linebacker position, playing with good shock and hand discipline at the point of attack. More of an anchor in the run game than he is a perimeter pass-rushing threat. Shows the ability to anchor the perimeter run defense, offering consistent penetration in the backfield. Projects more to a SAM linebacker in a 3-4 scheme at the next level with his ability to play the run, although he does offer some pass rushing upside on obvious passing down situations.

A strong physically developed prospect, Alexander appears ready to contribute sooner rather than later in situations unique to his skill set at the next level, projecting to a 3-4 edge backer with the ability to play the 6,7, and 9-techniques. Will add value on multiple special teams units.
