Joe Royer

Has a lean, muscular build with no bad weight. Good stature and should be able to add a fair bit of mass once he enters a college level strength and conditioning program. Is an above average athlete for the position, running in the 4.8 range at college camps. Productive and a standout player in a highly competitive high school league in the Cincinnati area. Has a talented skill set as a pass catcher. Flexes out into the slot and does an excellent job at creating separation and finding holes in the defense. Is a very nuanced route runner with the ability to change speeds in and out of his breaks. Able to decelerate on comeback routes. Comes down with contested in-air jumpballs at a high rate. Can contort his body and adjust to the ball in mid-air or scoop the ball off the ground, giving him a wide catch radius. Shows some upside as a blocker with a solid base and good footwork, but will need to keep progressing in that area. Projects as a multi-year contributor and likely starter with the upside of developing into an early round NFL Draft pick.
