Projection

First Round

Reminds Us Of

Dalvin Tomlinson New York Giants

A trench bully up front that can dent protection and plug against the run. Checked into the All-American Bowl at just over 6-foot-3, 315 pounds and tied for the second-longest arm measurement of the day at 35.5 inches. Uses that length to his advantage as his reach (and sheer power) makes it very hard for offensive linemen to deter him. Rather nimble for a big man as he shifts his weight well and always seems to be in control of his body. Above-average snap anticipation allows him to shoot into the backfield and get to work while a lower pad level makes it easier for him to find leverage and create push with his leg drive. Can win with some heavy hands, but likely only going to get better from a technical standpoint as a pass rusher once studying under a veteran defensive line coach. By far one of the most promising prospects to ever come out of Jacksonville Westside, where he totaled five sacks as a junior and nine more as a senior. Offers some scheme/alignment versatility with his wide body, but likely to make the biggest difference right in the middle. However, is still athletic and explosive enough to attack the corner and get home on stunts. Overall, should be viewed as one of the top defensive linemen in the 2024 cycle following a solid week at the AAB where he got the best of multiple blue-chip tackles and guards. Will need to keep progressing, but has what it takes to emerge as a difference-maker in the SEC and then eventually an early NFL Draft pick. Vibrant personality will be felt in the locker room wherever he goes.
