H.S. Scouting Report

Evaluated 01/03/2024

Andrew Ivins
Andrew Ivins Director of Scouting

Versatile defensive back prospect with plus field vision. On the smaller side, but has proven to be rather effective as an open-field tackler given his size. Started prep career off in Texas before spending junior and senior seasons down at IMG Academy where he contributed to one of the nation’s top defensive units. Projects best as a safety at the next level that can play the deeper parts of the field and provide run support, but could also get a look as a slot corner. Can hang in man-to-man coverage, but needs to get better with his hands as he struggled at times to match up with larger targets during practices for the Under Armour All-America Game. Shouldn’t be viewed as a blazer, but flows well downhill and takes favorable angles. Likely going to need a developmental year or two before he’s ready to go on Saturdays, but has the skillset to emerge as a multi-year contributor at the Power Five level.
