A scheme-versatile defensive lineman that has plenty of growth potential given his larger features. Went from weighing 215 pounds winter after his sophomore season to tipping the scales at close to 260 pounds spring before his senior season. Should eventually be above to carry another 20 pounds or so once lifting in a college weight room. Looks to constantly be in control of his body and isn’t one to waste much movement. Not the most twitched-up defender in the class, but has a serviceable first-step and will pick up plenty of steam once he locks in on a target. Initially projected as more of an edge player on Saturdays, but is looking more and more like a future 4i or 5-technique in a 3-4 front that can tie up blockers and help control the line of scrimmage. Saw production dip a bit as a junior while playing in the Peach State’s highest classification as he constantly faced double teams, but still found ways to impact games as he finished the year with six blocked kicks to his credit. Will likely need some time to get adjusted to the speed and physicality of major Power Five football, but has some of what’s required to emerge as an impact player in the middle, especially if he can learn how to formulate a sound game plan as a pass rusher.
