Projection

Power 4 Starter

A linebacker that some might mistake for a safety given his size. Grew up in Jamaica where he played primarily soccer with his twin brother before moving to the United States and eventually finding the game of American football. Uses explosive, fast-twitch muscle fibers to shoot into the backfield and create negative plays. Spatial awareness allows him to make a difference in zone coverage while aggressive hand checks and straight-line speed make him competitive in 1-on-1 situations. Has progressed immensely from a technical standpoint over the past two years or so, but must keep learning and developing as a back-seven defender if he’s going to be able to make an impact on Saturdays for a Power Five program. Missed a good chunk of his junior season with an upper extremity injury, but quickly bounced back and was able to turn some heads a few months later at the Florida’s state track meet when he took second in the long jump. Will need some time to mature, and must embrace the coaching he will receive moving forward, but athletic profile suggests that he can eventually play all three downs at the next level and emerge as a multi-year stater in the middle. Biggest question mark moving forward will revolve around the ability to add weight with his frame limitations. However, could easily carve out role in a defensive unit that wants to get creative and play fast in hopes of slowing down up-tempo passing attacks.
