Reminds Us Of

Josh Jones Arizona Cardinals

Adequate height with outstanding length. Huge wingspan (+8) joins multitudes of frame space to maximize mass in a college weight program. Owns a terrific overall profile for a true left tackle prospect in the long term. Lean and athletic with encouraging combine testing that suggests still-developing lateral fluidity. Quick off the ball and regularly the first to make contact. Light on his feet in general. Gets to second level and engages moving targets in space with relative ease. Showed improved strength and initial power in junior season. Also displayed more consistent block-finishing ability and a bit of a mean streak at times. Length and foot quickness make for extremely high ceiling as a pass protector. Strong athletic profile bolstered by basketball. Produces on the court (9.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg in 15 games as a junior). Must add mass to increase strength capacity while maintaining functional athleticism. Still on the raw side technically. Needs to hone consistency with hands. At times more of a basketball slider than a kick slider in pass pro. Can improve pad level and leverage. More consistent knee bend will aid leverage issue and help anchor. Nevertheless, looks more and more like one of the top offensive tackle prospects in Texas and the country in the 2022 recruiting class. Projects as a high-major multi-year starter with potential to reach the early rounds of the NFL Draft.
