Tall, long-limbed edge defender whose positional home in college likely depends on physical development. Outstanding frame potential thanks to great height and length. Ton of frame space to add bulk in college. Primarily played a standing edge role in high school. Could stay there, but worth noting frame ceiling is that of a strong-side end with a hand on the ground. Capable pass-rusher who can chase in backside pursuit as well. Solid tackler with consistent technique. Breaks down to wrap up fairly well considering height and length. Uses height and length to disrupt passing lanes when he can't get to the QB. Shows good arm extension to help disengage in the run game. Must improve pad level and leverage consistency at the point of attack. Natural center of gravity is high so playing low in the phone booth won't be easy. Needs to add bulk and strength to combat bigger, stronger offensive linemen in college. Not a quick-twitch athlete. Needs to play more explosive at the point of attack. Will need to improve lateral mobility and fluidity if asked to drop into coverage. Has not yet shown full array of pass-rushing moves. Possesses intriguing physical traits that provide a high ceiling with proper development, which could lead to a reliable Power 5 contributor down the road.
