Recruited to play tight end and offensive tackle at the P5 level. Elite frame for a tight end, but also very good for a projected offensive tackle. Big wingspan and ample frame space to add significant bulk and strength. Has played countless snaps at tight end. Natural athleticism is outstanding relative to offensive tackle projection. Great straight-line athlete with encouraging lateral mobility. Initial floor may be higher at tight end, but long-term ceiling is very high at offensive tackle. Locks on and stays with it as a blocker in the run game. Needs to learn how to consistently and properly use hands as a blocker. Simply overwhelms some opponents at high school level. Very limited experience protecting the quarterback, though potential is high. A bit stiff through the hips at times. Will sometimes play high and lose leverage battles because of height and length. Needs a lot more reps at tackle to acclimate to that position. Possesses starting left tackle ceiling at the high-major level. Long-term potential to project to as an early round NFL Draft choice.
