Reminds Us Of

Eddie Jackson Chicago Bears

A bigger defensive back with elite ball skills that found a way to make a difference in all three phases of the game on Friday nights. Could probably be a 1,000-yard wide receiver at the FBS level, but range and instincts suggest that his ceiling is highest somewhere in the secondary. Always seems to be in control of his body. Not one to waste many steps while in reverse and is quick to plant and change directions. Does a nice job of feeling out routes with simple hand checks and has a knack for capitalizing on the slightest of mistakes that a quarterback might make. Face-up tackler that can be rather physical at the point of attack. Has also shown that he isn’t afraid to jam someone at the line of scrimmage. Top-end speed is not an issue and verified times back that up (11.10 in the 100-meter dash). Got snaps primarily at cornerback as a junior and senior in one of the Sunshine State’s more competitive classifications, but could ultimately settle in at safety given how he’s built. Does, however, have the skillset required to get the job done as a bump-and-run corner in a more aggressive defensive system. Should emerge as an impact player for a Top 25 program and will have a chance to contribute right away on special teams. NFL traits given measurables, multi-sport background and two-way production at the prep level.
