H.S. Scouting Report

Evaluated 01/21/2023

Andrew Ivins
Andrew Ivins Director of Scouting

A single-high safety prospect with ball skills and straight-line speed. Picked off five passes as a junior, returning two of touchdowns in Florida’s highest classification. On the leaner side, but has the length that everyone wants in the secondary these days as he measured close to 6-foot-2, 170 pounds back in Spring of 2022. Can gallop to all different corners of the field and quickly clean up teammate’s mistakes. Doesn’t have a ton of experience in true man-to-man coverage situations, but isn’t afraid to jump underneath routes and make a play on the ball. Questions arose early in the process about how physical he really wanted to be under the lights, but got more and more aggressive as an 11th grader and showed some pop. However, will need to improve as a face-up tackle and add some functional strength if he wants to reach his true potential. Should be viewed as a possible ballhawk at the Power Five level given his range on the backend. Will need to keep progressing and take to coaching, but has the tools to make a difference on Saturdays. Should add plenty of value on special teams with frame/speed combo.

H.S. Athletic Background

Ran track throughout youth and into high school. Qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics in Summer 2019. Regional qualifier in both the 200 and 400-meter dashes as a 10th grader.
2022: Had a breakout season for an Evans program, which competed in Florida’s new 4M classification. Two-way player getting snaps at WR and SAF. In 10 games, totaled 69 tackles, 10 PBU, 5 INT (two of which were returned for scores). Also forced a pair of fumbles. Played for former NFL defensive lineman Kenard Lang.
2021: Worked in the same secondary as Miami signee Markeith Williams at Evans. In 9 games, totaled 53 tackles and an INT per MaxPreps.
