Darius Afalava

Afalava is a massive guard prospect with plus size and physicality. He has played some tackle at the high school level as well but projects as an interior lineman at the next level and a very good one at that. He’s among the most physical lineman out West and just mauls opposing defensive linemen. He’s a powerful kid and once he gets his hands on you, the play is over. He will routinely drive his man clear out of the screen before burying him in the ground. He has a heck of a punch and can floor a player with a routine shove. He shows good agility getting out on pulls and sweeps and has no issues getting to the second level and burying a linebacker or safety. Afalava has a nice mean streak in him as well and is the kind of player who want to dominate you and put his man in to the ground on every play. He shows sound technique in terms of his hand placement, pass sets and always looks on balance. With his size, toughness and strength, Afalava looks capable of competing for early playing time at the next level and if he can continue to improve his overall athleticism, he has an NFL upside for sure.
