Darryl Peterson

Currently built more like a linebacker than defensive end. Lean, but has some length to him. Highly productive as a pass rusher. Has played around the line and has experience in a three-point stance as well as a two-point. Has quickness and can bend the corner. Does a solid job with his hands. Shows that he can rush off the edge but can also get under an offensive lineman and drive them back. Does not give up on plays and shows good ability in pursuit. Falls into a tweener category right now. Will need to add weight and strength to be a full time defensive end, and will need more experience dropping if he is to play rush backer in a 3-4 or similar system. Junior captain whose intangibles and ability to get to the quarterback project him to safely be a difference maker at the Power 5 level.
