David Lene

Lene is one of those guys who just flies around and is always around the ball-carrier or the receiver. His ability to diagnose plays is uncanny- he's rarely ever out of position and always seems to know where the backs or receivers will be. He does a tremendous job of fighting through blocks to get to the ball and end plays. Lene's also willing to strike and hit with force and not just tackle, but he's a very sure tackler as well. While he's not as tall as most linebackers, he plays much bigger than his height will show and is a true three-down backer. Overshadowed as a freshman by J.T. Tuimoloau on the defense and as a sophomore by Dishawn Misa, Lene is no longer in those two shadows and plays as if this defense is his own.
