Jacob Cofie

Cofie is a skilled frontcourt prospect with good size who is comfortable operating inside and out. He is composed making plays out of the low and high posts and his combination of size and touch gives him the potential to develop not just inside the arc but eventually as a floor spacer as well.
What is special about his pairing with Virginia is how his game matches the tempo Tony Bennett endorses. Cofie is at his best playing in the halfcourt. He is not the most athletic but he produces with power and great touch from a variety of areas within 15-17 feet. His ability to pass and make reads also adds to his value as a playmaker from both frontcourt spots. Additionally, Cofie is capable of getting after it on the glass. His physical presence and soft hands should allow him to come up with balls through crowed lanes in the ACC. Defensively, his body is his best asset. He will not host block parties but should be able to get stops by staying grounded and being disciplined in guarding his man while remaining alert on helpside. Cofie is a high-floor prospect who has a significant upside with his decision to commit to Virginia. Once he arrives in Charlottesville, he will continue to learn the game, evolve, and be a valuable piece to Bennett's puzzle in the ACC.
