Reminds Us Of

Tyler Goodson Iowa Hawkeyes

Big-play high school running back with high per-touch rate, comfort catching passes from the backfield, and potential to provide personnel versatility in college. Undersized by traditional standards, but too dangerous a weapon to get hung up too much on smaller stature.

Flashes explosive downhill acceleration with good top-end open-field speed. Not getting run down from behind very often, if ever. Shot out of a cannon when a direct north-south path materializes at the snap.

Also shows impressive foot quickness in the hole with short-area agility to make multiple defenders miss early. More of a one-cut slasher once at the second level, but displays nimble initial elusiveness in the backfield / into the hole.

Gets very skinny through tight creases to pop into open territory. Appears to have very good vision and lane anticipation as a runner.

Very productive. Averaged 9.54 yards per carry across sophomore and junior seasons. Capable pass catcher who could likely align as a receiver in some packages and provide matchup issues.

Multi-sport athlete with .400+ batting average the past two baseball seasons, in addition to .500+ on-base percentage and 1.100+ OPS. Respectable junior 11.27 100-meter time belies field speed, though older sophomore combine testing accurately reflects what the tape shows.

As noted, lacks ideal size, not necessarily in height, but in frame width and mass. Will need to add bulk while maintaining athleticism. High-volume high school back who may need to be more of a change-of-pace weapon in a well-rounded RB room at the next level. Runs a bit upright at times and exposes lean frame.

Explosive, versatile running back who thrives in a spread scheme that gets him the ball in space. A better between-the-tackle runner than you might expect considering listed size. Sees the field well, cuts with conviction, and is one of the 2024 class' faster accelerators. Projects as a high-major prospect who could become an impact weapon with a ceiling beyond college.
