Edwards is on the short list when talking about the top tight ends in the 2025 class. Box checker and one of those rare players who does everything well as it’s really hard to find a discernible weakness in his game. Owns a prototype tight end frame. Not just a big hybrid receiver but a legitimate tight end who can make plays in the passing game -- short-to-intermediate and downfield -- and is also an established in-line blocker as well. Strong hands and does a nice job catching the ball through contact. Can get easy separation down the field from linebackers and safeties. Displays impressive body control. Assembled a standout performance at the All-American National Combine in San Antonio (Jan. 2024), where he looked smooth in the position drills, clocked 19.64 mph on the GPS, and measured with an 82-inch wingspan. Makes contested catches over smaller defensive backs. Shows a burst getting off the line and is a solid route runner who can easily get in and out of his breaks. Doesn’t fight the ball, which allows him to quickly get up the field. Does a nice job making defenders miss after the catch. Possesses the desired multi-sport background as a talented basketball player who averaged a near double-double last season. Assuming he stays healthy and continues to develop, Edwards looks like a surefire high-major multi-year starter and potential NFL Draft pick.
