Kayde Dotson

Dotson is a strong scoring guard who is tough and is just as effective playing off the ball as he is playing with the rock in his hands. He is a shot-making threat from all three ranges who especially loves getting to his spots in the mid range and is confident when he looks to create his own offense. There are two main factors that work in his favor when analyzing his potential as a productive player in the college game: The first is that he has a winning background. In his high school career, he has won two state titles and finished as a runner up in the lone year he did not win. Losing is something he is not used to and his successful habits should blend in well with what Pitino is looking to accomplish. Second is he spent the majority of his career playing alongside a high volume scorer in Wesley Yates. He is proven to be effective playing alongside a great talent and knows how to put his team in a position to win while receiving a great amount of freedom offensively. Dotson's mentality is based on ensuring victories and making shots. Both strengths should serve him well in the Mountain West as he is an ideal grab for the league and should have a lot of success playing under Pitino.
