Reminds Us Of

Ross Blacklock Minnesota Vikings

Deal does a good job of playing with good snap and body quickness out of his stance. He also plays with good pad-level which allows him to limit the blocking surface for his opponent. With his punch you see the explosion out of his hips that gives him the ability to generate very good power to sting the opponent and create knock-back to play on the offensive side of the ball. He has a good 1st step and shows twitch out of his stance. Very good at disengaging to make himself a fact in the play, whether it's action to him or play away. He has a good motor and effort on plays where he will chase and show up, making some plays from the backside. Very good for a player his size at stunting into gaps or setting the edge in a 4-man or 3-man front. Able to hold his ground and not get rooted out of his gap when facing double-teams and is very instinctive with getting his hand up in passing lanes when rushing the passer. In his development he is ahead as a run-stopper with the tools and traits to be a factor as an above average passer with more reps and technique growth.

Brings position and scheme versatility to the table on the defensive line. The maturation left both physically and football wise along with his natural talent is there for him to be a very productive player on the next level as a starter.
