Projection
Power-5 StarterBanuelos is one of the nastiest, edgiest players in the region. When he plays, he lets you know he's going to be lined up across from you all game. He plays with such a chip on his shoulder. Off the field, Banuelos is all personality, a gregarious kid, but on it, a switch goes off and he just is a bully. Watching him, you see him play through the whistle each time, consistently driving his defender back when the Lancers run the ball and also essentially toying with them when he's in pass protection, not wasting any steps, anchoring and not giving up any ground to his defender. He uses his hands extremely well and is an excellent high school tackle. While the plan is for him to slide inside in college, he has the athleticism to play right tackle at the next level and the length to do so. His initial punch packs power and this is a guy who loves playing football in the trenches.
H.S. Athletic Background
Owns significant snaps on both sides of the ball.

Spring 2021: Pandemic-abbreviated sophomore spring season. Played both ways and served a key role for a 6-0 squad.
Fall 2019: Got two-way experience on varsity as a freshman for a Kennedy Catholic team that finished 11-1 with a Washington 4A state quarterfinal appearance.
- Gabe Brooks
Named the 2022 Washington 4A NPSL Offensive Lineman of the Year and was named to the 4A NPSL First Team as a senior defensive lineman. He’s also been selected to play in the 2023 Under Armour All-America Game. Banuelos helped Kennedy reach the 2022 Washington 4A State championship game, which is not rare for the perennial Northwest powerhouse.
