Montgomery made the move back home to Seattle during the summer after playing his junior year at Garfield and then moving to Georgia for the spring. He looked like he hasn't skipped a beat and looks like he's recaptured his leadership role as the quarterback of the defense. Montgomery looks more fluid in coverage and still stout against the run. At times, he'll over pursue because of his aggression in trying to end plays, but his ability to recover is strong. Montgomery has the athleticism to play inside and be a three-down backer but you could also see him come off the edge in pass-rushing situations with the ability to dip under blockers and get into the backfield and get to the quarterback. As he continues to add strength, he should see that chance to be an every-down backer really surface.
