Reminds Us Of

Denzel Perryman Los Angeles Chargers

Shorter than most top linebacker prospects. Has a lean upper-body with a more developed lower half at this stage. Highly productive from his linebacker spot, helping to lead his team to a state championship as a junior. Is the focal point of one of the best high school defenses in North Carolina in some time. Primarily lines up on the inside. High-level instincts and effort result in play speed that is among the best at the position in the 2021 cycle. Diagnoses quickly and is tenacious in pursuit. Physical and embraces contact, both as a tackler and in taking on blocks. Has above average striking power and throws his body around as a hitter. Disruptive as a blitzer. Forces a high number of fumbles. Needs to continue improving his consistency as a form tackler. Doesn't show a ton in coverage to this point and will need to continue adding mass at the next level. Projects as a Power Five starter with the upside to develop into a NFL Draft selection.
