Reminds Us Of

Tycen Anderson Cincinnati Bengals

Size not verified but looks big on tape. Athletic build with good mass, but frame space to add more bulk. Big, strong base for an in-space athlete and matching downhill juice.

Experienced at several positions across all three phases. Scored touchdowns four different ways as a sophomore. Pure football player with a good feel for the game, regardless of alignment.

Shows impressive open-field acceleration and above average top-end speed on the field. Sometimes arrives high, but a better tackler than numbers suggest.

Knows how to turn and locate in coverage. Broad pursuit range fostered by obvious functional athleticism. Personnel chameleon for high school team who could potentially provide similar versatility at the next level.

Excellent multi-sport context provides verified athleticism. Ran sophomore 100-meter times of 10.88 and 10.95 and also produced strong 200-meter, discus, and triple jump data.

On-tape context is strong, but would like to see more production in the counting stats categories. Will need technical development at eventual long-term positional home. Faces significant jump in competition from Texas 3A ball to FBS / Power Five level.

Missed significant portion of junior season with an injury. Multi-sport context is certainly encouraging, but additional verified information re: size, testing, etc. will paint a more complete picture.

One of the more intriguing prospects in TXHSFB's 2024 class. Small-town do-it-all prospect who's a flat-out football player. Could play either side of the ball in the long run, but physical and athletic profile suggest modern off-ball linebacker or box safety role could provide highest long-term potential.

Projects as a legitimate P5-caliber prospect with athletic markers and on-field context that suggests ample long-term upside that could result in impact playmaking ability and a future beyond college.

H.S. Athletic Background

Also competes in track and field.
Qualified as a sophomore for the Texas 3A state track and field championships in the 100 meters and 200 meters. Ran 10.95 100 at state, which followed a 10.88 at regionals. Posted a 22.41 200 at state, joining previous Spring 2022 times of 22.95 and 22.99. Also recorded a 43-4.5 triple jump and a 130-7 discus in April 2022, finishing top three in District 28-3A in both events.
2022: Played only the first five games of junior season because of injury.
2021: Three-phase contributor as a sophomore. Played snaps at receiver, cornerback, safety, and in the return game. Scored at least one TD four different ways (rushing, receiving, kickoff return, punt return).
