Scouting Report

Evaluated 09/15/2023

Andrew Ivins
Andrew Ivins Director of Scouting

A green quarterback prospect that has the tools to start and win games at the Power Five level, but one that also lacks valuable game reps. Impressed at the Elite 11 Finals making a number of advanced throws alongside established blue-chip talent. However, decided to switch schools right before senior season and wasn’t named the clear-cut starter coming out of camp. Seems to be his best when he’s attacking the intermediate parts of the field as he can rip a tight spiral and accurately hit his marks. Athletic and elusive enough to extend plays and get out of trouble, but needs to improve as a decision maker and learn how to limit turnovers. Has dealt with some unexpected setbacks over the years, but could be worth the long-term investment for someone as the good tends to be really good. Likely will need plenty of time before he’s ready to go on Saturdays and is the type of signal caller that’s only going to benefit from running the scout team early on in his collegiate career.

H.S. Athletic Background

Has also played basketball at the prep level.
----
2023: Transferred into Orlando Jones ahead of senior season and ended up working behind 2026 QB Deron Coleman. Completed 56 of 101 passes (55.4%) for 916 yards with 7 TD and 5 INT. Made a big impact as a runner, carrying the ball 104 times for 855 yards and 10 TD. In Florida’s 3M playoffs, ran for 102 yards against Orlando Edgewater and 172 yards against Homestead. Winner of the 'Rail Shot Challenge' at the Elite 11 Finals.
2022: As a junior, completed 59.3% of his passes for 1,559 yards with 16 TD to go against 7 INT. Also carried the ball 52 times for 306 yards and 6 more scores. Posted a 7-2 record as the starter at Winter Garden West Orange, which won a district title in the Sunshine State's new 4M classification. Missed some time due to injury.
